Sandman: No Memes
by Chris. 10/30/2013
Today was the long-awaited Sandman: Overture #1, and it seems to have been worth the wait. The scene with Merv in the library alone is well worth the cover price. Speaking of covers, I prefer the A cover, which is trippy and flowing and fits Dream very well. And, for once, we actually have an abundance of something I am excited about!Deadpool Kills Deadpool is over, or at least over for as long as a funny Marvel series/fan favorite/cash cow is ever 'over.' I am sure there will be more. It's got a lot of good meta humor, including a joke with a TV in one panel that went right over my head.
One moment.

Nope, Google is of no help. Maybe I'll try next week when more than just a few of us have read it.
Cataclysm, or maybe Ultimate Comics Cataclysm, #1/10 is new today as well. I liked where Hunger went, and this was a good lead-in to a classic Galactus plot. I will be reading it, even though I am not always up to date on the Ultimate Universe, simply because I am a sucker for a big unstoppable bad guy, and this is the pinnacle.
Finally, The Fox came out from Archie under their Red Circle imprint. And in less than 24 hours I have heard no less than 7 "jokes" that consist of saying "what does the fox say?" I think it's time to let this one go. I'm sorry if you've missed the boat, except I'm not. It's not bad though. I have no idea what Archie is thinking, but between this by Mark Waid and "Afterlife With Archie*" they are certainly branching out.
