The Spanish captain Juan Corso left his true identity behind when he took to sea. The name he came to be known by essentially translates to "John Pirate." Regardless of who he may have been before, though, he became one of the most dangerous privateers in the Caribbean, a terror to French and British crews wherever he sailed.
