Subscription FAQ
How does this work?
A subscription is a standing order for comics and items that you would like to receive. You let us know what you want to get, and when it comes out, we set it aside for you. Then we bundle everything together and ship them to you on a schedule you specify. Unlike a magazine subscription, you don't pay for a number of issues up-front. When your subscription is due to ship, we will charge the card on your account. You can add or drop titles at any time, and changes will take effect immediately.
How much does it cost?
You'll receive a discount on new comics ranging from 5-35% based on the size of your subscription, per the schedule below. A shipping charge (which starts around $3.50) will apply to each shipment you receive, based on the size of the shipment and the destination. How often will I receive a shipment?
We can ship monthly, biweekly, weekly, or when your shipment reaches a certain subtotal - whatever works best for you. We generally receive new comics on Tuesday and ship subscriptions on Wednesday.
Can I get my books in bags and boards?
The first thing we do when we receive new comics on Tuesday is put them in individual bags and boards at no charge to you. This protects them from damage due to handling and shipping. If you were to purchase your own bags and boards, they would probably come out to $.15 a book, so it's a significant savings!
How do I get started?
Use the Comic Books menu at the top of the screen or click here to view a list of titles available for subscription. When you have added some things to your sub, follow the on-screen instructions to activate your account.
What if I want to add trade paperbacks, action figures, or back-issues?
It's easy to have other items shipped along with your subscription. Just add something to your cart and go to Checkout, then select "Ship With Subscription." If you add pre-order items to your subscription, we will keep shipping your sub normally, and include the additional items in your regular shipment as they become available. You will not be charged for any items until they are ready to ship. Our subscribers receive an extra 10% off on regularly priced trade paperbacks and hardcovers, for a total of 30% off!
I just added a title to my subscription, and it comes out this week. Will I get it?
Subscription lists for a certain week are generally finalized on Tuesday morning (US Eastern time). After that, changes made to your subscription will not take effect until the next week. Titles added very close to release also have a greater chance of being back-ordered on your account page, but most back-orders are filled within a week or two of release. Canceling Your Subscription
You may cancel your subscription any time from your Subscription page. After your subscription is canceled, we will charge your payment card and ship any subscription issues and other items that have already been pulled for your open shipment. No additional issues will be pulled for you. If you change your mind about canceling, you can reactivate at any time from your Subscription page. Your previous preferences will be preserved.
