Brawler Bash has a long history of players actively cooperating to clean up after their final game is finished. Please, when you finish Game 5, place your table terrain in the appropriate location.
THE MAIN EVENT
Brawler Bash is an Open List 2500 point tournament using all armies listed in "Forces of Fantasy" and "Ravening Hordes" and all official GW pdf's of other armies.
BB is using the Carnage System. Your score is entirely determined by the points you kill. The amount of points your opponent kills is irrelevant. For example. If you kill 2500 points of your opponent and they kill 2500 of yours, you both score 2500.
You will be paired against others who are near your total points. We are NOT using the GW recommended number of units for events but simply using the standard Army composition listed on page 278 of the Core Rule Book including allies. Allies are considered a (up to) 500 point second army that you are running. If both generals are killed in an army using allies, 2X general points will be awarded.
Army lists can be submitted on New Recruit before 2/27/2025.
Players should bring copies or virtual copies of their list to provide to their opponents and are advised to have access to a pen, calculator and all rulebooks relevant to play their army.
ROUNDS AND PAIRINGS
Round 1 pairings will be determined by random draw, with Grudge Matches between players of differing clubs allowed and encouraged. Pairings for Rounds 2-5 will be based on the Swiss System using your current Battle Points total(excluding any Bonus Battle Points or Penalties). Efforts will be made to prevent pairing club mates together during Round 1 and Round 4.
Should a player be over fifteen minutes late or miss a game for whatever reason, a reserve player may be appointed as a temporary stand-in. If no one is available to stand-in, a bye will be awarded to the player who is present. Absentee players who require a stand-in will have that games score set to zero. Players receiving a bye will be paired for their remaining games as if they earned full Battle Points.
Time remaining in the round will be prominently displayed and an announcement will be made when only 15 minutes remain. Players are strongly encouraged to remain aware of the time. When Time is called players will finish the current phase and may not begin another.
Additional Penalties may apply for failure to submit your list by the deadline or to meet minimum standards of sportsmanship, such as not abiding by the Atomic Empire Code of Conduct.
SETTING UP AND PLAYING THE GAMES
Brawler Bash will use the Deployment Types and Scenarios of The Old World Rulebook, as indicated below: This may change in the coming months.
Game Type: Open Battle ... This year.
Game Length: All games will be Fixed Game Length of 6 turns.
Game One: “Bounty hunter, General” Kill your opponent’s general. Gain an additional 500 pts. (1 general killed maximum in the event of allies)
Game Two: “Strength in numbers” will require that at the end of the game you hold a quarter of a table using a unit or combination of units that is currently unit strength 10 or higher. Each quarter will award 125 pts. To hold a quarter, have at least US 10 and the highest total unit strength in that quarter. (page 105 of BBB has the table)
Game Three: “Beat Down” will use the break point rules listed under the Warhammer scenarios section. In essence, if you reduce your opponent to 50% or less you are awarded a bonus of 500 points. If your opponent reduces you afterwards to 50% or less, they receive 250 points.
Game Four: “Bounty hunter, Wizards” Kill your opponent’s highest costing wizard. For DH Anvil and Runesmiths count. If your opponent brings no wizards you gain full points. Gain an additional 500 pts.
Game Five: “Strength in numbers” will require that at the end of the game you hold a quarter of a table using a unit or combination of units that is currently unit strength 10 or higher. Each quarter will award 125 pts. To hold a quarter, have at least US 10 and the highest total unit strength in that quarter. (page 105 of BBB has the table)
If a game concludes early due to tabling, the winning player may use the remaining game turns to attempt to complete the Scenario objectives.
These objectives are not automatically assumed to be completed. Call a Referee over if necessary. Secondary Objectives will be announced after pairings.
Painting and Proxies
No painting is required for this tournament. Proxies can be used within reason. GW models are not required but models that accurately represent the unit should be used. WYSIWYG is not required but is encouraged. Using bestigors in full plate as chaos warriors would be fine. Using zombies would not.
Terrain:
Terrain placement is fixed for each game. In the interests of time a map pack listing how terrain will be placed on each board will be supplied during the event. We will NOT be using player placed terrain for this event. Spells and other abilities which move terrain will still function normally; please return the terrain to its original placement after the game concludes. Random terrain placement will not be used at this tournament. Flat terrain can be substituted if both players agree.
Terrain Types:
- Woods are dangerous.
- Water is difficult.
- Walls are low linear obstacles.
- Impassable is ... impassable.
- Buildings are impassable.
- Ruins are difficult.
- No special features will be used… This year
